Who Can Get A Utah Concealed Firearm Permit?
- Applicant must be at least 21 years of age
- Legal Resident of the United States of America
(if born outside of the USA, you must have a valid A Number or INS
Registration Number)
- Proof of good character...whereas the applicant;
- has not been convicted of a felony;
- has not been convicted of any crime of violence;
- has not been convicted of any offense involving the use of alcohol;
- has not been convicted of any offenses involving the unlawful use
of narcotics or other controlled substances;
- has not been convicted of any offenses involving moral turpitude;
- has not been convicted of any offense involving domestic violence;
- has not been adjudicated by a court of a state or of the United
States as mentally incompetent, unless the adjudication has been
withdrawn or reversed
You will be required to answer the following questions:
- Have you ever been convicted of a felony?
- Have you ever been convicted of a crime of violence?
- Have you ever been convicted of an offense involving the use of
alcohol? (i.e. DUI/DWI, alcohol related reckless, supply alcohol to
minor, etc.)
- Have you ever been convicted of the unlawful use of narcotics or
other controlled substances?
- Have you ever been convicted of any offense involving moral
turpitude? (i.e., theft, criminal mischief, sex crimes, etc.)
- Have you ever been arrested for any offense involving domestic violence?
- Have you ever been adjudicated as mentally incompetent?
- Have you ever been involved in any incident in which you have
used unlawful violence or threats of unlawful violence?
- Are you currently subject to a court sanctioned protective order?
- Have you ever been dishonorably discharged from the armed forces?
If the answer to any of these is YES - you will
be denied.
If you do not meet these qualifications, do not register for my classes. I can not, and will not teach anyone that does not.
If you have any questions about your record or past (unpaid tickets,
bench warrants, juvenile issues, etc.) and your ability to qualify
for a Concealed Firearm Permit, you can contact or visit BCI and ask
to speak to an investigator. They will be able to help you.
